I don& #39;t know anybody with an apartment, that I think is totally gorgeous, who took less than 3 years to decorate.
This is just to say expecting your apartment to come together in mere months is being a little hard on yourself.
First, it& #39;s expensive. You can do used EVERYTHING and it& #39;ll still be expensive. Second, you will change your mind a lot. You& #39;ll buy stuff and then decide that it doesn& #39;t look good and now you have to return it or sell it NextDoor.
Third, your style will start to develop and then you& #39;ll discover a whole bunch of little things you want to do. Lil rug here, paint there, decorative statue on the credenza, statement light on your desk. Which is more money. https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="😭" title="Laut schreiendes Gesicht" aria-label="Emoji: Laut schreiendes Gesicht">
And all of this happens over and over until one day it& #39;s just perfect. But it takes a long time to get it perfect.
My living room was fairly empty for the first 8 months I lived here. I was never embarrassed by company though. Anybody who has decorated a space understands that it takes awhile. As long as you got something to eat for your guests you don& #39;t need to be embarrassed.
Didn& #39;t mean to get long-winded lmao. I just see folks stressing about not having a couch within 6 months and that& #39;s really not a big deal.
I went thru two couches, two beds, three dining tables, two islands, 6 rugs, a desk, a TV stand, bedroom seating set, dresser, and several random items before I found what I wanted. It was diabolical and quite stressful for a solid year but don& #39;t give up on your vision.
