One of the best ways to provide value to your followers is by writing threads

But thread writing is an entirely different type of writing.

Sure, you might know how to write an article.

But an article isn't a thread.

So, how do you write effective threads?

Let's begin 👇‼️
Your first goal is to catch your reader attention with the Top Tweet

Are you reading this Tweet here?

That means the Top Tweet worked.

Here are two things every Top Tweet needs to do to catch someone's attention:

- Pose a problem
- Inform readers a solution is coming

👇
The Top Tweet is the most important in the thread.

Out of all the threads I've written that have gotten big, they get over 10K impressions

But the Tweets after only get about 1K

So take time on the Top Tweet and really make it stand out & give people a reason to keep reading.
Next up is the body of the Thread:

- It needs to be easy to read
- The structure needs to be appealing
- Include lists and bullet points

People are very likely to skip the body of your thread, so make its most important points easy to catch

But you also want...
To create suspense.

So, you need to learn to use cliff-hangers both:

- Effectively
- Sparingly

If each Tweet has a cliff-hanger your reader will get annoyed and disengage.

Do not annoy your readers.
Now throughout the entirety of your thread, you have three things you need to focus on:

- Ethos
- Pathos
- Logos

But your primary focus should be pathos.

You want readers to feel a certain way as they read your Tweets.

So always focus on emotional appeal.
Now, when you write threads, one thing will set you apart from the rest:

- You need to establish your authority

Do this by staying on topic, but also you need to not say things like

- I feel
- I believe

Intuitively readers need to know that you know what you're talking about
Part of your authority is going to come from:

- Your branding
- Topics you most frequently Tweet about
- Links that are attached to your profile

Make sure you optimize those before writing long and elaborate threads.

One last thing! 👇
Your last Tweet in the thread needs to sum up what the thread was about

Because there's a very good chance your readers will only pay attention to the Top Tweet and the end Tweet.

Check out the Tweet below to see how to do this!

👇
So, wrapping up:

- Top Tweet is your most important Tweet
- Body of the Thread needs to be appealing and easy to read
- Tease with cliffhangers
- You need to appeal to emotions
- Establish yourself as an authority
- Do this one last thing at the very end of your threads...
