Spring 2021 I’m scheduled to again teach a senior capstone course for enviro studies - focused on interdisciplinary, problem oriented, critical thinking

Thinking of titling it “Environmental Heresies” & assigning @ShellenbergerMD @BjornLomborg new books as part of the curriculum
I’ll of course invite @ShellenbergerMD & @BjornLomborg to class, but I will also invite their most prominent critics

If in this latter category, please let me know if you’d like an invite, otherwise I’ll find you and send an invitation

Have to survive Covid fall 2020 first!
Other topics may include:

Why is enviro studies (& CU Boulder) so white?
Is there a “cancel culture”?
Why do poor people suffer >enviro impacts?
Is Malthusianism anti-human? And/or like a religion?
What is RCP8.5 & why does it matter?
Does political diversity matter in science?
All voices are welcome in this class
As I always tell my students
I am truly sorry for my lack of interest, but I don’t care what your politics are now or after this class
My job is not to teach you what to think, but how to think
And some ways of thinking are better than others
So in that spirit
If you’d like an invite, give me a shout
I’d love to have folks like @MichaeleMann and the like participate, and they are welcome
More deets later this fall, if I survive what will be a crazy term!
