Sipping on Campari and Soda has given me time to reflect on tonight’s game. The ref was poor today, but Chelsea were outplayed by a better side. Just to reinforce, THE REF HAD A SHOCKER, but after the first drinks break, Arsenal ran the show. They aren’t mutually exclusive
Let’s remember that at the beginning of the season, a cup run and Europa was a dream. Now, Chelsea finish the season with a game that hurts, but have shown the world a few things:
After losing one of our best ever players, being slapped with a transfer ban, and only being able to use the academy, Chelsea got CL Football with one of our greatest players as a manager, who is also trying to build our club with an identity and a philosophy. How cool is that?
And yeah, you know what? Frank and Wembley in his managerial career don’t have the best relationship, and today’s game leaves a bitter taste because of the refereeing, but you know what else?
This side is young. This side is hungry. And this will spur us on to better things. They won’t want to be watching on again, and I’m sure, that in the years to come we won’t be.
More trophies will come, better players ARE coming in to become better under Super Frank’s tutelage and this club is rebuilding.
It’s coming. Believe in Frank, believe in Chelsea.
For your friends that might still be angry and still hurting, believe me, we all are. Sit down with them, show them this, have a drink, talk about footy and watch this club come back to be a force. Rome wasn’t built in a day. Trust me, I know. I’m an Italian remember?
