Grab a drink and lets get down to a very controversial and often misused term in the Kpop Community

ARMY IS TOXIC
Since joining the fandom I have seen people call Army Toxic and this confuses me greatly as to treat a collective group as a monolith and assign set characteristics to said group is wrong and misleading. The misuse of the phrase itself is toxic at its centre
An individual acting toxic doesn't not represent an entire community culture. HOWEVER a collective group that participates, accepts, turns a blind eye to and defends such acts warrants the title of Toxic. But before Kpop stans get comfortable here lets learn somethings first.
According to Merriam Webster

Toxic is defined as
1: containing or being poisonous material especially when capable of causing death or serious debilitation
2: extremely harsh, malicious, or harmful
These include words, actions and reactions
Again we need to see what a toxic person looks like. Some Characteristics are:

-They have an excuse for everything
-They talk over you
-They are hungry for attention 24/7
-They are pathological liars
-They lack empathy
-Ego issues
-They tend to be abusive.
Toxic people
-are manipulative
-are judgmental
-take no responsibility for their own feelings or actions
-don't apologize
-are inconsistent
-make you prove yourself to them
-are not caring, supportive, or interested in what's important to you.
From the information above you can see that as a collective Army ARE not toxic. Is everyone a saint and innocent, NO. Are most at least humans with flaws and usual slip ups, yes! The things Kpop stans qualify as toxic wouldn't meet academic or societal definitions of toxic
I won't talk about each of the characteristics as you can judge for yourself, if you are honest with yourself. Most Kpop stans are not and this creates this gaslighting, manipulative, victimizing environment where collective groups are not held accountable for their actions
There are three main situations where Army is called Toxic
-Mention of BTS Success
-Defense of BTS and Army
-Defense of Culture and other Societal Issues

Anytime Army participate in any of these, Kpop stans lose their minds and behave in toxic behavior, gaslighting & projection
1) Mention of BTS Success
Whenever Army mention BTSs success they are doing what anyone in the world would do if they achieved something. From beating records, winning medals and awards, praise someones talent, success in business, or help achieve something historic.
K-pop Stan's cannot let BTS be celebrated or celebrate something in peace. THAT is a toxic mentality. The underlying issue is they view Kpop as a monolith that should share the success equally. If you didn't help said group achieve this, why should you benefit?...
Army should be able to celebrate BTS. Army only mentions the other groups when THEIR fandoms insert themselves uninvited into conversations that had nothing to do with them. Thats where comparisons come in.. I'll mention the F-word later.
2) Defend BTS and Army
Kpop stans have created a TOXIC norm that it's perfectly ok to attack BTS and Army. Be it their looks, talent, success, struggles, fears. If they can't find something, they will create lies or scenarios KNOWING that this will hurt BTS and Army. That's toxic
The response they expect from Army is silence. They hope that we won't say anything and just let them continue. The moment Army defends BTS, we are automatically labelled as Toxic. Expecting Army to turn a blind eye is toxic. Gaslighting Army into accepting abuse is toxic
3) Defending Culture and societal issues
Kpop stans often manipulate, gaslight and deflect particularly when it comes to this point. They don't want to accept that what their faves did is wrong and will penalize anyone, even those within their own fandom for being hurt or offended
Armys for the most part, are very aware of their societal spaces. There is an awareness that outside being a stan they belong to real communities that are affected by various things. Trying to silence them is TOXIC. Trying to take away their voices is toxic.
Now lets get to the F-Word.
Flop
When something is assigned the title Flop, its because It failed to meet 1or more of 3 criteria: Sales expectations, Critical acclaim or Growth and Development.

Any of these would negatively affect the perception of entity
In Kpop, the benchmark is BTS. Y'all can argue but it's true. They positively satisfy all three criteria consistently. They have sales, streams, meet expectations, have critical acclaim and have developed as artists and continue to grow.
Kpop stans bring in their faves intentionall or unintentionally. They set them up to be judged and therefore a conclusion is reached. The methods of achievement are also judged and weighed ie bundles, mediaplay, comparison, past actions and engagement
This is what happens when communities of people don't mind their own business and don't focus on their faves. Army is then given a door to come in and evaluate. Most multis will preach about peace and army not dragging their real faves yet ignore that the conversation +++
Never had to start in the first place. If BTS was not dragged then there would be no point for Army to be present. Its TOXIC for multis to try and gaslight the situation, ignoring the source and silencing the offended. If they want peace then they need to stop being enablers
Saying that you left Armyland because of toxic behavior is a bit of a stretch. Especially when you join a fandom that is blatantly and visibly toxic. You prove that you are okay with Toxic behavior and are only leaving because you can't have your cake and eat it too
Army as a collective are not toxic. We have our moments and our faults. We are however focused on BTS. Most K-pop stans are focused on us and project most of their toxic behavior on us. I mean the likes and comments on abusive tweets concerning BTS and Army prove so...
