Okay TTRPG people I keep seeing graphics go by for either GenCon or for actual play stuff so I’m gonna teach y’all a few things as someone who doesn’t know every other person in the community and is getting a degree in How 2 Get People To Click On Your Thing:
If you’re making a graphic to show who’s on a show or panel and they never use their face or their real name on their page, don’t use that in the graphic.
Also I swear to god please name your pictures/icons etc I keep seeing just a collection of faces in the graphic and then a series of twitter handles in the tweet
I shouldn’t have to go through and check everyone’s twitter to know who’s in your game
And please. Make graphics. Label them with names. It’s as easy as making a collage of people’s profile pictures. You can do it for free on your phone.
Tada, an easy graphic. It doesn’t have to look perfect but here’s a general idea for a 3-player game.

Also name the GM. I’ve seen people just not name their GM bc the GM will make the post and assume everyone coming to their stream knows who they are
Also images register much faster than words in a tweet. If I see a grouping of people like this my brain will go “ooh, a collab, perhaps a game or podcast” vs a wall of text I will skip over
I feel like MANY tabletop streamers/podcasters rely on “my followers will watch me” when the reality is a majority of a social media following is unlikely to regularly watch content on another site...
...and the only way to increase viewership is to reach people OUTSIDE your following
The effort you put into recruiting twitch or discord mods is important, but lots of TTRPG people desperately need that effort in social media management or coordination
If you need a social media manager I’ve got a resume or if you need advice I’ve got DMs and an email open
And speaking of emails and DMs. Twitter DMs and Discord messages are NOT the level of professionalism you think they’re at. At all.
