Using Mercari JPN and B**ee
This thread contains info if you plan on purchasing some items on your own.
1. B**ee is one of the most known JPN proxy sites and it's very simple to use Mercari through their website. However, I would recommend going onto Mercari JPN yourself to the stuff you want.
2. Service Fees:
• $5 per purchase
• Plans (per purchase):
Lite plan $0
$3 Inspection plan
$5 standard plan (Insured delivery + Inspection)
• Consolidation fee: $10
• (Optional) Protective packaging fee: $15
3. New listings on Mercari JPN
Sometimes when there are new listings on Mercari they aren't always available on B**ee immediately. Moreover, it can take around 3 days for a new listing to become available through B**ee. Also I'm not 100% sure on this but I've heard JPN sellers +
may have the option to make their listings available only available in Japan🤔 I'd also like to note that sometimes the sellers themselves will write ❌B**ee in their listing descriptions. So they may cancel your order. This is why it's good to double check listing descriptions.
4. Photocards
You have to be super super careful with listings that have PCs and see if the seller offers a toploader or cardboard. I've seen a couple of videos and there are instances where sellers will quite literally just put a PC in an envelope and send it off.
I know people get excited when they see a PC(s) they want for cheap and just click buy. But it's also very very important to check the listing throughly
This is one of the reasons why I opened this account. Before I put PCs up for claims I check the description of the listing, check the seller's profile for packaging info and their ratings. Because no one wants damaged merch. But of course there's always the 10% risk.
What you need to look for:
• The listing description clearly states that PCs will be shipped in a toploader or in cardboard.
Google usually translates this as: hard case or cardboard reinforcement.
•If it doesn't say in the description check the seller's profile!
Now the term waterproof may come up when you translate a listing. That does NOT mean the PC will be sent with a toploader. The friend I talk to explained to me that waterproof packaging is simply putting the item in a zipper bag.
In this case seller's may have an additional fee i.e 100 yen (roughly a dollar) to add a toploader. This part I am not sure about, let's say you want the toploader added. I would say to ask customer service and see if they can ask the seller for this. +
I've personally never dealt with these type of purchases so I can't say how it would go. That is up to B**ee to decide.
5. Buying PC sets
Sometimes you may find a listing that's around $3 with a set of PCs and think it's the price for all of them. That is not the case sometimes.
•If you check the descriptions that may be the price for 1 or 2 PCs.
•Sometimes that may not be the price at all!+
•Sellers may put 300 yen as a way to grab attention. When you check the description the might list off different prices for each individual PC. So if you were to buy the listing you would be contacted and asked for which of the PCs in the listing you would want. +
So you would end up paying the difference later. I'm not sure but it'll probably be paid for when you pay for intl shipping.
6. Shipping intl
Right now because of covid they only offer 2 shipping methods to the U.S which are Surface mail and DHL. For my package last time I chose DHL and paid around $60 (I had a $5 discount) and it weighed 2720 grams.
