I think my #ArtfulAugust is going to be heavily inspired by #geometricJuly, #mathartchallenge, and #maydala.
Randomly generated triangles in a rainbow grid.
Not my favourite piece but I’m posting it for the record. #artfulAugust

I actually think I prefer this one in monochrome. #artfulAugust
In case you're interested, here is the random part in action.

A quick spiral of hexagons created in a @Geogebra spreadsheet!
I made it look like a vortex. #ArtfulAugust
I forgot I was threading my explorations! https://twitter.com/becky_k_warren/status/1291107855982977024?s=20
10 minutes in @GeoGebra, creating the design. 3 hours in Paint S making it pretty.

Or if you just want a geometric colouring sheet you can find this mandala pattern here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Z7BsHTYBGV59KnG0f6hXap6ctmqjgzjr/view?usp=sharing
I animated a mid century poster for todays piece.

I don't love the Moire effect caused by the pixelated line. I think I might need a plotter. #ArtfulAugust

Back to rainbow mandalas today. #ArtfulAugust
This piece was inspired by the patterns on this door knocker: https://twitter.com/met_medievalart/status/1292880966327861248https://twitter.com/met_medievalart/status/1292880966327861248
I tried my pattern out with various symmetries.

I have been exploring some window motifs. #ArtfulAugust
I think they would make a good base for a zentangle activity. If you want some printable versions I have uploaded them here:

I added some colour by hand. #ArtfulAugust
I saw this glorious design in a tutorial by Adam Williamson. This is the beginnings but I'm not sure how to decorate it. I want to have a go at the weave. We shall see!

I really love this pattern and I finally completed the weaving.
One of the joys of using @Geogebra is that I can play around with some of the variable aspects of the design. here I have tried out a thicker and a thinner woven part.
Which do you prefer?

I also like being able to easily extend a pattern as I can then look at the structure. There are these lovely spiky loops round each flower pattern and then wiggly lines that weave through and complete the design. #ArtfulAugust
I added some colour by hand to the design, some subtle blues and pinks. I tried to emphasise the weave. Shall I ink the background in black?

I’m trying out an inked background. I printed out a few smaller versions of the pattern to play with. #ArtfulAugust
Playing around with colour combinations. Do you prefer the traditional colour combination or the neon version? #ArtfulAugust
I’m testing out a grid for weaving. I’ve tried to make sure the diagonal lines are as wide as the horizontal and vertical ones. It seems to work quite well for simple knot patterns and plaits. #ArtfulAugust
For todays #ArtfulAugust I have made some square knots using my dot patterned paper. A throwback to the #MathArtChallenge Day 18: https://arbitrarilyclose.com/2020/04/02/mathartchallenge-day-18-celtic-knots/
I added some bright colours and a little texture! #ArtfulAugust
Another knot! This one has six loops. I had to fudge the middle a bit, it didn’t quite fit on the grid I made.
