Privatisation of Railways ( REALITY )
As we all know, how awful our railway system is, trains getting late from scheduled time or the hygiene and facilities etc.
To repair this system Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, while presenting the Budget in parliament on 5th July 2019+
said the railway infrastructure would need an investment of Rs 50 lakh crores between 2018 and 2030.
For a country with GDP of 140.78 lakh crores It's impossible to fund the railways from gov. resources.
That's the reason why GOI invited private firms to run trains in India
It is estimated that only 57% cost is recovered through tickets on an average. Rest is covered through the goods train system or freight train system.
Because of overcrowding freight trains push hard against passenger trains for space.
To face this problem Indian railways decided that around 70% of freight trains will shift to the two upcoming Dedicated Freight Corridors from December 2021.
This will lead to decrease in overcrowding and providing more space to introduce passenger trains with better services and higher speeds.

The government has identified 109 busy routes across India to run 151 private trains for 35 years that is only 5% of total trains that run +
In India.
For the project, the routes are divided into 12 clusters based out of major city centres, such as Patna, Secundrabad, Bengaluru, Jaipur, Prayagraj, Howrah, Chennai, Chandigarh, and two each for Delhi and Mumbai. In other words, trains to and from Mumbai, Chandigarh and+
Each cluster is an independent business project, inviting a private player to manage.
For example cost of project of Delhi-2 cluster is around Rs 2329 crores which will be given in bid to any company which has a minimum net worth of Rs 1165 crore in the last financial year
Some people start arguing that gov sold Indian railways to private companies and all.
But this is not true as stated above gov only gov 5% of Indian trains on “LEASE” to private companies rest 95% is still governed by GOI.
Jobs will also be alloted through GOI
For better functioning and facilities this is step is a must needed step.
Don't fall into the traps of english speaking illiterates and some overconfident idiots with fake agenda.
Only rationale argument we can give is this step will raise the price of tickets which can make it difficult for middle and poor class to travel through these trains in those 12 clusters.
While countering that question gov said that they will continuosly monitor the prices
So that common public don't feel cheated.
This is welcome move by GOI to boost the railway infrastructure in our country.
Share this with anyone who argues that Indian gov sold railways to private firms.
These same people will not teach their children into gov school because
Of lack of facilities, but shouts when gov provide better options.
As every good thing needs maintenance which increase its cost.
