What if we just paid parents who are struggling between working and taking care of their kids when school/childcare don't offer a way for parents to have time to focus on their work?
We talk a lot about how families are important. It should be clear by now that conservatives just want you to have children so there is a cheap, exploitable work force in the future.
We are made to feel bad for having families that we can't afford by those that have the means to support a family but are unwilling to share it with those who do not have means to support a family
There's a weird trend in SoCal where tinder profiles highlight that the person is a homeowner. I know it's not the case 100% of the time, but I bet at least 80% of the time, this translates to "my family gave me $50,000 so I could have a down payment without extra fees"
Would I be happy if my family gave me enough money to put a down payment on a house in SoCal?

Absolutely!

Would I use the 500 characters I'm limited to in a tinder bio to tell you that I was a homeowner, when in reality I've got a mortgage that my family helped me get?

No.
This thread is kind of all over the place, but I think the big idea is that we keep telling ourselves as Americans if we can’t afford big things, we deserve to be without them, while often helping the few people who have big things to get them
Why do we choose to help the people we choose to help, and why do we chose to let suffer/stagnate those who we choose to let suffer/stagnate?
