Women that destroy their beauty are making a very deliberate and symbolic point.

First, they intuitively know that the male/female coupling is the ultimate building block of civilization bc through it, we get the production of children, then family, then society.

But the coupling requires that each play along. For women, this means maximizing her natural beauty and attracting a mate.

Her rejection of her beauty is an insult to herself, but ultimately she means it to insult the entire system, one she deems unworthy of her participation.

Pointing out that they have made themselves ugly through this rejection doesnt matter because it's the point! It's purposeful!

Convincing them they are ugly doesnt matter. They want to be ugly because it shows a rejection of the entire system.

The women that are playing along and choose to continue the coupling, family building, and therefore society building will participate by embracing their beauty (i.e. hoping to mate and reproduce offspring for society).

Ultimately, this is why I think conservative women tend to care more about their beauty than liberal. Since they want to conserve the system, they make the deliberate choice to participate. Their own actions of being attractive build & conerve the very foundation of the society.
