Does anyone want to discuss how Beyoncé (a light skin person) is the CENTER of a piece about Africa/blackness? A continent colonized by white people is greatly impacted by colorism, so I’m just wondering y’all thoughts on the responsibility of the artist to not play into that.

Whew Jesus... these comments are revealing to me the DIRE need to talk about colorism across the diaspora, cause the jump to “is she not Black enough?” is just a tactic of light skin fragility to end what could have been a fruitful unpacking of how light skinned folks are

centered in our communities.
