Freedom is the Cure rally set to start soon in Twin Falls City Park.

Speakers to focus on #idahocovid19, but expect a broad range of topics. #idpol
Tried to capture crowd size. Roughly 100 people here so far. Few (if any) masks.
Event is organized by Twin Falls residents.

"Freedom is the Cure" is a JBS moniker and used for rallies elsewhere (notably in Spokane), but organizers say today's event is independently organized.

Tom Munds of JBS is MCing the event.
Lt. Gov. Janice McGeachin up first: What does freedom look like?

"Freedom is being able to worship freely as we see fit.
Under the Trump administration, clergy is seen as essential service."

Says Idaho's governor, AG, and supreme court "all have that wrong."
McGeachin - For those parents afraid to send their students to school this year because of COVID: “It is a privilege to attend public school in America."

Suggests parents should sign release of liability form.
IFF President Wayne Hoffman is up. Munds introduces him as a "rabble-rouser."
Hoffman says Republican legislators are lying and refuse uphold conservative values.

"I know what Republican control of all three bodies looks like, and it hasn’t been fantastic.”
Hoffman says schools are teaching kids to hate capitalism and to love socialism/communism.

"Government should not be in the business of educating our kids."

"(Kids are) learning how to hate all the things that make our country great.”
Hoffman: Should schools open this fall?

"Ehhh I don't really care."

Says government shouldn't have a say and it should be up to parents.
Hoffman says Black Lives Matter is a socialist/Marxist group and indoctrinated by Idaho higher education systems.
Hoffman says Gov. Little has already mandated masks (he is not) and now warns crowd Little plans to mandate goggles.
Judd Miller of Madison Liberty Institute is up.

"Sometimes it’s a little frustrating to be a minority. And we are a minority."
Says government is using COVID to scare people. Points out people who follow "mainstream media" are more concerned about the virus than those who don't.
It appears we've skipped over Eric Parker in the speaking order. He was supposed to go on before Miller.
Munds railing against fake news and cancel culture.

"Fake news! Is there any fake news out there? ... You’re planning an overthrow of the American republic."
Parker is up now.
Parker says election is less than 100 days away.

"It’s coming, win or lose. The history of a peaceful transition of power in America is slowly going down the drain. If you’re not prepared for that, you’re behind the curve.”
Jeanette Finicum, widow of Lavoy Finicum, is up now. Says Oregon Gov. Kate Brown is allowing violent Black Lives Matter protestors to destroy state.
This is the spot where Ammon Bundy was originally scheduled to speak. Bundy's name is no longer on the schedule.

He's supposed to be in Nezperce today for a different rally.
We've jumped ahead to Rep. Tammy Nichols, R-Middleton.

Speaking on recent Facebook post controversy about a St. Luke's healthcare worker who died.

I use FB "kind of like pinterest, where you can just say things on it and go back to it later."
“The media is not our friend. They are out there spewing information that is not correct.”

Nichols says media is especially slanted against conservatives.
Nichols now pushing hydroxychloroquine. Says media isn't covering it fairly.
Sarah Clendon of Health Freedom Idaho

"The government is not going to save us, the masks are not going to save us, the CDC is certainly not going to save us." Only thing that will "save us" is liberty.
Miste Karlfeldt of HFI on media: "They're poising our brains."

“Just because the mob wants to wear masks, it doesn’t matter. I have the right to enjoy and defend my liberty.”
Pastor Paul Thompson is up now. Thompson is running as a Constitution candidate against Rep. Lance Clow for Twin Falls House seat.
Thompson is handing out coloring pages for kids today.
Crowd is dwindling somewhat as we breach 90 degrees. Still a couple dozen people here and a few speakers to go.
Playground protestor Sara Brady is up. Says people need to take to Facebook and make posts even if they're controversial.

“If you can’t even speak up about the truth, how are you going to stand up for it.”
Brady: Jesus is the author of freedom.

“We need to turn back to him if we’re going to fight for freedom for him.”
Former Rep. Ron Nate is up. He's running for #idleg again this year.

He's holding a copy of the constitution and a copy of The Communist Manifesto. Says we're "slipping towards" the latter.
Nate says "free education of children in public schools" is a principle found in The Communist Manifesto.
Nate says BLM has an "evil Marxist agenda." Warns that groups in Idaho want to establish communism and socialism.
Nate: RINOs are the true enemy. They say the right things but lack conviction.

Battles aren't between Red and Blue. "The fiercest and most important battles are between establishment Republicans and true conservatives.”
We’re to our last speaker now, Caleb Collier of JBS. Just a handful of people still around.
Collier says the left is well organized through BLM and antifa.

"These are all organizations that are dedicated to overthrowing the United States.” Says they have a "Luciferian" global agenda.
The rally is over. I’ll have a story later this evening.
