parts of our congress are completely ignorant. it has nothing to do with bipartisan aides or political views, i speaking on the business side.
congress had the four biggest american business leaders in front of them earlier this week: Jeff Bezos (Amazon), Mark Zuckerberg (Facebook), Tim Cook (Apple) and Sundar Pichai (Google)
they are being held on trial for being monopolies pinned statements of being “aggressive” “rapid growing” “market disrupters”
congressmen and women repeatedly asked questions to these men about previous business acquisitions and developments as if what they were doing was NOT how developing and growing a business and brand worked.
these men and women barraged the CEOs with loaded questions, ultimately just to cut them off upon the men just beginning to answer.
Congress isn’t looking for an answer or an explanation.
Having this hearing was pointless. Congress wasn’t being unbiased upon this trial at all, they just wanted to try and make the four biggest CEOs look stupid. And guess what, it didn’t work.
I believe calling it a “hearing” is perfect. It’s exactly correct, Congress was hearing these men talk. NOT LISTENING.
These men are not making monopolies like the 19th century oil companies. Oil was the primary source of energy and a necessity, therefore had to be regulated. This is about a social media platform, a search engine browser, a retail shopping website and a communication device maker
at the end of the hearing the chairman gave his concluding remarks. notice Mr. Cicilline is reading off and stack of printed out papers as if his conclusion was already determined prior to even entering the building.
