I noticed that some have (due to ignorance or animosity) falsely alleged that Eisen Teo is a “pedo rapist”. Just want to put the record straight: he isn’t.

First, “pedo” implies that he was convicted of having sex with a child. He was not. In Singapore, the legal definition of a child is someone under 14 (even the more mainstream, non-legal definition would be 12 and below). Eisen’s victim was not a child. “pedo” = false

Second, he was not convicted of statutory rape (sex with someone below 14 with or without consent) or actual rape. He was convicted of sexual penetration of a minor (with consent). If there was no consent, he would have been convicted of actual rape. “rapist” = false

These are not just semantics. Don’t use such terms (that carry legal implications) without doing some research. False allegations have consequences, whether under defamation or POHA.
