Here's a thread I wrote last year on the outstanding journalism of @Jonathan_K_Cook. It disappeared when my @josefkalf account got permanently banned because I used a swear word (s***house) when defending myself against smears by the Gnasher mob.

I was compelled to write it at the time because Cook's pieces were vital & I was getting so sick of the mainstream media, especially the dishonesty of the Centre-Right Corporate Guardian™. They were the biggest enemy of the grassroots left...

They seemed to go the farthest in their mission to protect the status quo and destroy the chance for a fairer society.

So it's a shame for my old thread to go to waste. Here it is. A journalist who needs to be widely promoted to the world. Please retweet to support his work.

@Jonathan_K_Cook is the perfect journalist.

Why?

Well, firstly, he actually does *journalism* - I know, crazy concept in this age, eh?

I mean it's such a rarity for people in this so-called *profession* to simply write the truth about what is happening...

Secondly, he does the job of 'journalist' very well.

Outstanding, in fact.

His articles are always thoughtful, insightful, balanced and nuanced...

When it comes to thorough research, constructing logical arguments, backing them up with rationale, being even-handed, exploring the topic from multiple angles, there is simply no contest.

NO mainstream journalists do these things.

Think about that.

Contrast his articles with those of Guardian writers who selectively spout embarrassing, emotive, misleading rhetoric, deliberately distort context, omit important facts and actually tell brazen lies.

Cook writes with honesty, fact-checks and invites rational debate from commentators.

He challenges other vociferous commenters from the media and those with a high profile or public platform...

Surprise, surprise!

You'll hear a pin drop when this happens.

Not a peep from establishment pontificators like David Schneider, Suzanne Moore, John Harris & Jonathan Freedland, who shriek hysterical hyperbole and rhetoric without any fact-checking or research.

Lastly, I just want to highlight Cook's support for Julian Assange over the years while the corporate media, Guardian and the horde of establishment commentators were either selling him out or stabbing him in the back at every opportunity.
