now as a debut achoo, i don't know fully the details of their predebut, so if i get any information wrong, i hope that they will come in to correct me in the replies so feel free to check them.
at first, they were called empire girls and were under star empire. +

yunji and sihyeon (who you may know already) went on produce 101 and placed 84th and 61st respectively. they were going to debut as omzm along with a former star empire trainee han hyeri that even had a fancafe i believe, but was disbanded before a debut came to fruition +

fast forward to mixnine. yunji and sihyeon, along with hyogyeong (another familiar name if you know of mixnine), dawon, and yeori auditioned for the show, but only yunji, sihyeon and hyogyeong passed. and while yunji and sihyeon were eliminated at 36th and 29th respectively +

hyogyeong made it to 8th place and made it to the final lineup of the girl's team. sadly, she wasn't able to debut as the boy's team won (and altogether mixnine didnt debut them either so). but it wasn't a total loss. hyogyeong had fans from mixnine. it seemed perfect +

to debut them with the help of her popularity. but then their debut was delayed. im sure a predebut achoo might know, but i dont know what the reason was. but the girls were still active on social media and posted many dance covers to keep eyes on them. fast forward +

to debut. the debut had gained them some attention (including where i came in, although i had my eye on them a few days before debut but regardless). there were many comparisons about them, comparing their sound to iz*one, loona, and many more +
