I uhhh ran across the “little miss patriot” account on Instagram this week and my disinformation sensors were blaring so I dissected it on Instagram and y’all need to see this too. With the reminders that I am smart and have degrees and research to back me up.
For my research we only recorded 10% of the meme repository we were working from. I read 100% of the memes from the 45 verified IRA accounts. Which is to say: I am deeply, horrifically familiar with the content of disinformation accounts.
Red flag #1: there is no human presence in this account. As Mr. Weasley always told his children: if you can’t see where it keeps it’s brain, DONT TRUST IT.
Red flag #2: hashtags like “Godwins” “digital soldier” and the use of the American flag emoji and rhetoric

Disinfo accounts lean so hard into the religious and militaristic rhetoric to seem more like American conservatives. Some might say a little too hard. Easier to spot tho
Red flag #3: the fact that the account has only been around for a month but already has 235K followers
This kind of meteoric rise suggests it’s part of a disinfo network
Networks share and follow each other ensuring that their posts get further up the algorithm and thus more seen
Red flag #4: they use the words of American heroes and scriptures to make themselves more legit. This quote is just particularly fishy as the account pushes actual conspiracy theories like QAnon and pizzagate.
Anyway. All of that to say that I’m pretty sure this account is a state-sponsored disinformation account. It’s chill it’s chill. Also, if u want more resources on disinformation campaigns in more than happy to share!!
