For everyone who has been buried in student debt, for everyone who has been scarred by SROs, for everyone who skipped school because they didn’t have any clean clothes to wear.

Our education system is the backbone of our communities. We need to actually start investing in it.
Everyone deserves a safe, quality pre K-12 education. Everyone should be able to attend the college, university, or trade school they want regardless of their income, race, immigration status, ability status, or incarceration status.

This is how we fix our education system:
• Cancel $1.6T in student debt

• Invest in quality pre K-12 education for all, REGARDLESS of zip code

• Tuition-free public colleges, universities, and trade schools for all
• Wage increases for public school teachers

• End the school to prison pipeline

• Increase funding for Second Chance Pell Grants for HBCUs to offer certificate and degree programs to those who are currently incarcerated
• Incentivize certificate programs in our high schools

• Develop and implement LGBTQ-inclusive public education

• Expand Pell Grants to to include those who are incarcerated and those who are undocumented - include living expenses such as transportation and childcare
I dream of community schools that have gardens so every student has access to fresh vegetables. That have laundry machines so every child can have clean clothes. That have social workers to get our families the help they need.

It's not that far out of reach.
