Better questions transform conversations.

Let’s look at a great opening question from @patrick_oshag to @KatColeATL

He doesn’t open the podcast with filler, “oh shucks” commentary or extensive guest biography. He gets right into the conversation with high velocity.
Patrick begins by acknowledging the work of another podcaster @APompliano

Then asks Kat to share a very unique, specific story.

“I would love for you to begin by telling the story of you in Egypt and a call to prayer.”

It shows prep & launches us headlong into the convo.
Instead of “tell the audience about you” it allows Kat to tell the audience about her in a much more juicy, urgent, specific way. We are 11 seconds into the pod and we get a world view & the makings of an incredibly detailed story.

This is what I call a high-velocity question.
A high-velocity question is urgent & accomplishes multiple things at once. They are very powerful as the 1st question but they don’t have to be.

Asking questions like these transforms conversations & gets answers that others don’t get. Here’s more on it: https://link.medium.com/BccGqsi6A8
