There is over reliance and misconception that service plan/warranties in which a placebo effect of 'security' are asserted. Consumers finding themselves about to fall out of the service plan threshold vs outstanding principle debt being case and point of the changing reality,
for financial realities leaves on with the fearful reality of having to maintain their vehicles out their own pocket. Cool, but IT DOESN'T HAVE TO COST YOU AN ARM, LEG AND REMORTGAGING YOUR HOME TO KEEP YOUR TOOL OF TRANSPORTATION.

So what do you do?
Leading up to the last service, this is data you will need to gather on maintaining your vehicle:

- Request a quote for a Major Service and Light Service from your OEM.
- Request a quote for parts for Major Service and Light Service components(part numbers are a must).
Now for the good stuff:
- Find a distributor that supplies the OEMs in your region(Ask an agent) and compare pricing
- Search the aftermarket(Seek above OEM spec) eg. Brake discs & pads, clutch assembly, differentials - Locate a distributor with a sample of components
- Locate technicians/mechanics that distributors would refer you to.
- Build a network!

It isn't enough that senselessly wonder through a street full of workshops, ask through in positions of reputable /knowledgeable positions.
Negatives:

- A lack of knowledge can easily get you ripped off. Just because someone granted a title of a 'specialist' doesn't mean you won't get ripped off. (RMI thugs)
- Don't leave your car at premise for longer than a day for light work.
- Supply your own parts! Just do it!
- Ask for a thorough demonstration of what was changed, and request the worn component.
- HAVE A SEPARATE ACCOUNT FOR VEHICLE REPAIRS!

Keep this MO in play until your debt is cleared, and transfer your knowledge to the next vehicle. It is simply too unrealistic, to swop
cars every 60 000km-100 000km in light of wanting 'security'. Maintain your financial health to the best of your abilities, and ask questions.

Don't let a car be the reason you have eat cupasoup and bread every evening.
