Is there a difference between brainwashing & marketing?

Remember the thread on following up after a sales pitch or presenting your offer that I promised you?

This is it.

Leggo!
One of my biggest fascinations with marketing is how easy constant reminders of a particular message can shift people from a position of “I don’t want or need this” to “Hmmmm, I think I want it now” or “I need to get that”

This concept is what has individuals, repeating...
“Breakfast is the most important meal of the day”
“Buying expensive wigs is an investment”
“I’m a Marlian”
“I believe in the one true god”

These companies, industries, artistes and religions sold you on an idea by constantly repeating it and following up with
more messages, exclusive activities and events that promote their messages till you become one with the message. They urge, cajole & encourage till you think it is a way of life.

As shocking as it is to say this, I believe marketing is a few steps below brainwashing 😬
You may not agree with my BOLD statement but how about we look at stats?

Did you know…

2% of sales are made on the 1st contact
3% of sales are made on the 2nd contact
5% of sales are made on the 3rd contact
10% is made on the 4th contact
80% is made on the 5th - 12th contact?
Remember when Naira Marley first came out?
For me it became a classic case of liking what I hated.

With these stats & a real life example, it is safe to say, for the most part, when you first put out a sales pitch or an offer, people will likely NOT BUY
…especially if you have not sold them on the idea before.

I’ll admit, following up with prospects and clients feels awkward & uncomfortable, especially on your first try.
I won’t even get started on how easy it is to give up during the follow up process.
I believe these are major reasons why many avoid following up on sales prospects and clients.
More stats? Of course.

Did you know
48% of sales pitches DO NOT have a follow up plan?
25% follow up once and stop
12% follow up twice and stop
Only 10% follow up more than 3 times
In so many words, what I am trying to say is this.
Follow up increases the sales cycle of businesses because it drives action.
Should you get into it?

Absolutely!

If you ever attended any of my free classes, you'll notice I followed up just once
That alone had me doing between N40,000 - N90,000 per week. Imagine if I did it more religiously?

So how can you implement a follow up strategy in your business?

I gave you a snippet on how I did it with the letters in this thread https://twitter.com/toperants/status/1276868441639514117
🤔 my follow up strategy is definitely a bonus you’ll get when you purchase the
