Bertha Benz was born in 1849 from a wealthy family. She had a keen interest in science and engineering, sadly she couldn't pursue her passion at the time since women back then are seen as inferior and they couldn't comprehend the information science had to offer.

Whe she had reached the age of marriage, she had potential suitors. However her eyes were on the penniless/broke coach builder/engineer Carl Benz. The thing that attracted her was Carl's vision of creating a horseless carriage. Though her family disapproves her marriage.

She went against her family wishes and marriage Carl. To add insult to injury she invested all her Inheritance towards creating a company Benz Motor Company. Though the marriage wasn't paradise. They faced hunger, they were mocked by peers, Bertha was ridiculed by her parents

However they persisted, Bertha remained loyal to his husband and supported his dreams. In 1888 both couples have managed to Patent the first official automobile. Called the Benz Patent Motorwagen.

After the patent was done. It didn't sell, her husband decided to scrap the project. However Bertha believed this project will be a success and decided to take her 2 sons on trip to her mother's house. And you know.. The rest was history

Fast-Foward to the modern times. If wasn't for Bertha Benz's sheer tenacity. We wouldn't have Mercedes Benz today. Heck even AMG wouldn't exist without her
