A thread-
What is the virtue of Eid-ul-Adha?
Eid-ul-Adha is to think, reflect and ponder upon the legacy of our father Ibrahim (AS). What are the lessons should we learn from the Sunnah of Ibrahim (AH)? (1/13)
Allah azzawajal tested Ibrahim(AS) in so many ways that no one else was tested like that. Allah mentioned him as a young man who stood up and challenged every single thing which the society has accepted. He challenged politically, socially and questioned every single thing.(2/13)
So, what should we learn from that? This is for us, youth who wants to ‘fit-in’, be accepted and be ‘wantable’. Ibrahim AS defied the norms of society and had his trust and tawakkul to Allah. He was challenging his own father, elders who were involved in wrongdoings.

As a Muslim, our loyalty should be to please Allah and not to go in a herd and feel accepted. We’re not born for this world. Our goal is bigger than that. Quran says- Stand up against injustice even if it means to stand up against your own self or against your family. (4/13)
Ibrahim AS was thrown in fire, yet he said the truth and stood steadfast to his deen and submission to Allah. This is what we’re celebrating. His tests became more strict as he grew old. (5/13)
His marriage was a test. Allah commanded him to leave his wife and son in the middle of desert and he accepted the test and left his most precious possessions on Allah’s command. What is the lesson here? (6/13)
This tells us that sometimes Allah creats a situation in which you have to be separated from your family. Like, a person chooses a job, away from his family, student migrates away from his home. This is not a commandment from Allah but it is a judgment and decree from Allah (7/13)
and we should accept it as it is. Take the biggest example of refugees. They left their home, family, land and everything which they had. Allah tells us that Ibrahim AS relied on Allah and he had a trust in his plan and we should also do that. This world is a test. (8/13)
Biggest trial came when Allah told Ibrahim AS to sacrifice his son Ismael AS. He was separated from his father and now he had to sacrifice his only child. Ibrahim AS didn’t thought for a moment and went to fulfill the commandment of his lord. (9/13)
Lesson- sometimes we have to put our family in pain for the sake of Allah. For e.g. a person changes his income from Haram to halal and it might brings pain to his family. (10/13)
What is our greatest takeaway? We should rely on the qadr of Allah and Allah will never abandon us. Our life revolves around the sunnah of Ibrahim AS and his life is a lesson on how we should react. This is a legacy of Ibrahim AS. This is the virtue if this festival. (11/13)
What does Allah says for when we do our sacrifice? Allah says feed the one who is in need, who does not asks. It is right towards our brethren. We become the source of their happiness and their happiness will turn in duaas and they will become the source of our happiness. (12/13)
May, Allah makes us from ummah where hearts are united and are able to relive the spirit of the beautiful occasion. Ameen. (13/13)
