Yesterday actually revealed a lot about the massive holes in:

- Our laws
- How those enforcing them choose to do so

1. You arrest the girls for "public indecency" (we'll come back to this in a minute), but the guy who, by the RIB spokesperson's own admission "is known to drug

women and film them in the nude", the same guy on whose IG the videos were broadcast, is nowhere to be seen. And yet, our cyber crime prevention and punishment is very clear on this

2. Throwing all presumption of innocence out the door by parading the alleged offenders, akin to a trial by media, and having them incriminate themselves?

I don't care if they're guilty or not, that's for the courts to determine in a fair trial. You don't make people go in front

Of cameras to say "I did A, B, C, D". And RIB's been doing that A LOT!

3. The crime. Public Indecency. Tell me you've ever seen anything more vague than this.

How do we define public indecency? The law doesn't explicitly do so, so it's left to the interpretation of the prosecution and judges.

And this is where we see societal biases that are definitely not in favor of women coming into play. Okay yes, a woman publishes a nude photo,

So she's prosecuted for public indecency. But what about these dudes flipping out their Johnsons to urinate on the streets? Are they not exposing themselves indecently?

A woman might face jail time for showing her breasts. For public indecency. But do we even bat an eye when

Dudes are bare chested at the beach, the gym, at work (those who do manual labor), in social media pictures, in music video clips, movies, TV shows...? No we do not. And yet, both the men and women are showing the exact same body parts.

But we, the society have chosen to

Sexualize one of the body parts, and then go a step further and associate its exposure with shameful "lack of values" (imported ones, mind you). And the law comes along happily enforces this!
