I’m going to give you a little insight into some of the reason people call an ambulance. These are some of the most memorable calls. Some amusing, some sad. Settle in, it’s going to be a rollercoaster of emotions.

Spoke to a lady once that had been watching a documentary about
cancer. They said that in the early stages most people don’t realise they have cancer as they don’t have any symptoms. She was convinced she had cancer because she didn’t have any symptoms.
Spoke to a guy with a proper cockney accent who was calling coz ‘some bird’ just fell out a tree. I asked him how old the woman was. Said he didn’t know. Asked him to guess. He said he wouldn’t be able to. 🤔
I asked if she was hurt. He said it looks like she broke her wing. 🤦🏻‍♂️
Spoke to a really distressed elderly lady. She had woke in the night to find her husband, daughter and grandkids dead in the house. She was rightly hysterical. My heart was in my throat. Turns out she was alone. Husband had died years ago and kids moved out. 😭
Took a call from a lady in a phone box saying that she had killed her kids. Assuming she was suffering with her mental health I took the details anyway. When her house was checked they found her children murdered.
Had a long conversation with a suicidal man. He was calm and just seemed to need someone to talk to. During the call I heard sudden wind and the line went dead. He had jumped off a bridge.
On the far end of the spectrum was a young lady that couldn’t get her contact lens out. She was so angry that she was being told she wouldn’t get an ambulance. I learned a few new words from her so for that at least, I’m thankful.
An elderly guy once told me he discovered a new species. Said it was harmless. He wanted to sell it to make some money. It turned out he had had taken LSD and was hallucinating. It was about 7am and he was in his 80s. He was LIVING.
There was another lady in her 80’s that had a drug problem. She had been taking heroin for about a year. She said she never touched drugs before. She just wanted to see what all the fuss was about and ended up addicted.
