They say remainers think leavers are stupid. But it wasn’t us who took you for fools, was it? We didn’t get you outraged about bananas and teabags and unelected bureaucrats, then stripped you of your rights and freedoms and installed actual unelected bureaucrats over you, did we?
We gave you the benefit of the doubt. If we hadn’t, we would’ve camaigned harder. Our fight since hasn’t just been for us. It’s been for everyone. For your rights, for the peace, propserity and well-being of the country. For democracy, which is being dismantled as we speak.
Everyone says it’s about sides. That *we* have to “reach across the aisle.” But we never stopped doing that. Remember this when you’re going through redundancy, in the non-EU queue, after your exorbitant holiday, when your children ask you, “why?” When you have no NHS.
Are we going to point out what is stupid? You bet! Because frankly, it’s excruciating to watch. Sucked in by three word slogans and lies, screwed over, *again*, by the entitled, whom you just handed more power. But we never stopped caring, which is why we never stopped fighting.
The way to “heal the divide” isn’t to ask people to give up their values. Rather it is to ask why we became divided in the first place. The EU, immigrants, refugees? They’re not the enemy nor the cause of your problems. Racism? That’s just been used to keep you in your place.
If you *really* want democracy, if you *really* want a better country, the *only* way to acheive that is by identifying the actual problem. The lying, corrupt government. And the *undemocratic* system that’s made it that way. There *is* no divide. And together we can win.
