Hi @iMisred, can I help? The genesis of the #BlackLivesMatter
https://abs.twimg.com/hashflags... draggable="false" alt=""> movement was specifically in response to police brutality against African American people in the US. Not against random racism, it began by tackling the cancer that is police brutality against African American people. https://twitter.com/iMisred/status/1289457204202897408">https://twitter.com/iMisred/s...
You & I both know that ZRP& #39;s conduct towards ordinary civilians (most times at the command of some superior hegemonic power) embodies the very essence of police brutality. I need not attach the receipts here, there& #39;s enough evidence of the abuse perpetrated by them.
I& #39;ll attempt to highlight how both these issues mirror each other without being partisan, but being fully political. The BLM& #39;s website explicitly says that they fight against "state-sanctioned violence". Not church-, not family-, not friends-, state-sanctioned. That& #39;s political!
The police in the US which were & continue to attack black people are not Paw Patrol. It& #39;s an organ of state. To advance the #BLM movement is to champion a political cause. To remain silent on the SIMILAR plight of FELLOW Zimbabweans is to hypocritically form alliance w/ tyrants.
And if there& #39;s a question about apoliticism, read this: https://twitter.com/unfurlingwonder/status/1289320861095407623?s=19">https://twitter.com/unfurling...
