Take 13th July: ONS (should be pretty much complete for then) show 35 deaths in England on that date. PHE report 79, 125% higher.

Hospital deaths (from NHS England) are running at just under 10 per day & trending down.

ONS show 60%+ of deaths are in hospitals. That implies about 16 deaths per day in England at the moment, perhaps 20 (possibly less) for the whole UK.
This is why the PHE series is officially suspended.

Don't know why it is still published on some of the Govt websites but news organisations should not be reporting it for now at least.

Really glad @robertcuffe is going to look into how the BBC report this.
