If you want to see the damage that Brexit has wrought to Britain, consider the fact that Claire Fox became a regular voice on the BBC, then an MEP and now has been elevated to the House of Lords by Boris Johnson.
Over the course of her career as a 'controversialist' she ran a magazine that libelled ITV journalists by alleging they faked evidence when exposing some of the worst atrocities in Europe since WW2. It also opposed gun controls after the Dunblane massacre.
During the Iraq War her party - which published the magazine - did not just oppose a foolish misadventure but rooted for Saddam Hussein against British troops
This small political faction also defended 'the right of the Irish people to take whatever measures necessary in their struggle for freedom' after the terrible Warrington bombing that killed two children.
Fox herself has defended Gary Glitter's right to download pornography of abused children. She argues in support of climate deniers and does not think we face a climate emergency. She has attacked multiculturalism.
Worth noting that Munira Mirza, another of her follow travellers in this sect, is installed in Downing Street as one of the PM's closest aides. Extraordinary that the modern Tory party wants to be associated in any way with pro-terrorism, pro-child abuse, pro-genocide views
No doubt Fox would accuse me of being a snowflake. But I find it offensive such people are elevated to parliament alongside sleazy party donors and pals of the PM simply because she was a prominent pro-Brexit voice. It would not be hard to name so many more deserving candidates
