Some Pacific Islanders really don’t understand the part Christianity & Missionaries played in colonialism. Christianity came with western values & ideas which degraded and dehumanised indigenous practices. Christianity wasn’t all goody goody.

Since y’all think Christianity only took away bad things. Y’all should go learn about our languages, tattooing, third gender, homosexual relationships, pre-colonial dance & song, sports, and more. Christianity was and never will be all good because it was corrupt by people.

People who push their own agenda’s. Who 1000% had a role in colonising, and westernising Pacific countries. There’s an extent to where Christianity did good, and a very SMALL extent.

I still go to church b/c that’s what I believe in, but I still acknowledge that the ppl who bought this religion to the Pacific used it to push their own agenda & in turn not only took away bad things but good things too. I said “it wasn’t all good” not it “isnt good”. Difference
