Troubled by Johnson’s refusal to disown comments made by a Tory MP blaming the very ethnic minority communities that have disproportionality worked, & died, on the covid frontline - even as thousands packed onto beaches.

It’s divisive dog whistling, by a PM, again. It’s not ok.

There have been repeated episodes of this type from Cameron on the London Mayoral elections to May’s “citizens of nowhere”.And of course the Brexit campaign. It normalises prejudice & racism at the highest levels in the public space, that wouldn’t be acceptable in our workplaces.

We have never needed community unity, harmony and trust more as we fight coronavirus together. It only works if we work together.

We must find common cause rather than exacerbate division.

That example and leadership should come straight from the top.
