Hibiscus
Most common house hold plant in India.
Also spiritually important as its used in Devi pooja.
It has anti inflammatory, anti stress properties, controls BP, manages weight loss, arrests hair fall, improves skin texture, increases good cholesterol (LDL), relieves PMS
1)
The chemical constituents of Hibiscus are
Quinines, flavanoids, paraphenols, steroids, anti oxidants, tanins etc.
Hence it also helps in mood elevation.
Mostly the research has been focussed on Hibiscus tea:
red sorrel

agua de Jamaica

Lo-Shen

Sudan tea

sour tea

Karkade 2
These are some types of preparations used. The flower can be dried and used as well.
But like all other herbs, the most potency is when used fresh.
Flavanoids and alkaloids get inactivated when exposed to drying.
So the tea, face pack & hair pack works best when used direct.3
This was a small attempt on my part to rediscover the usage of plants, flowers and herbs, especially the ones that hold importance in Hinduism.
Coz I firmly believe our ancestors had solid reasons to endorse them.

Ur feed back would help me know if I need to stree on any part
