Any time NJPW does anything in America lately I'm just horrified and irritated that they're being so safe in Japan and so foolish here. They could have the exact same protocols in both countries and there would STILL be more risk here.
The only reason I've watched ANY American wrestling since March is that some of my local people have been on AEW, and even with that I'm genuinely angry at how careless the company is being under a veneer of caution.
"It's fine, we get tested." And that makes it OK that you're gathering indoors after traveling on commercial flights? "Getting tested" doesn't make you immune, and even if you don't die you might never fight again. It's careless and I can't stand it.
I can't reconcile this. It just sickens me, it sits on my heart and keeps me sad and worried and angry. No one should be wrestling in America right now. We are not safe, even with every precaution - and no one's taking EVERY precaution.
I can't have fun watching these shows. I can't distract myself for the duration of a match. I can barely have fun watching shows in Japan, even knowing their numbers are far more controlled than ours, because all it takes is one asymptomatic person.
This isn't the sort of thread that builds to a conclusion, I'm just angry and sad and scared for everyone involved. And I can't watch these American shows.
