If you have a dream about falling, there are only two explanations..... https://twitter.com/NickFromAlaska/status/1288874299814707201">https://twitter.com/NickFromA...
1. A hypnic/hypnagogic jerk, caused by anxiety or high intake of caffeine. It mainly happens when transmitting to the first stage of sleep, which is called "N-REM 1". When one falls asleep, the vestibular organs are the first to switch off, thus the body has zero balance.
Due to rest, all muscles relax. And when suddenly one muscle twitches, the body virtually loses balance and falls down "in your dreams". The falling sensation usually felt is from the settling of fluids in your ears.
2. Due to Vestigial Cognitive Behavior. This is based on Darwin& #39;s Theory of Evolution. The memory is still in our brains dating back to the time we were apes. During that time, we would fall asleep atop trees and suddenly fall down and get hurt. Thus the memory still lingers.
This explains why people kick their legs and throw their arms, trying to grasp onto something. This archaic reflex goes back to when we were apes, trying to grasp onto branches to prevent our fall.
However, this second fact doesn& #39;t hold water because evolutionary psychology can& #39;t be used to argue in science. So let& #39;s go by the first fact, about the hypnic jerk.
So now you& #39;re in the know with Keith Ang& #39;ana (read in Linda Nyangweso& #39;s voice)
