We bought air ticket for this sister July 14th Beirut to Addis Ababa. At airport, she was arrested because her madame called police &said she run away. But truth is madame threw her outside the Ethiopian consulate after contract finished. Instead of going home she went to prison!

Before July14 I contacted her madame to see if there were problems. The madame said no problems, she called police to remove complaint & the girl could travel. We were happy. So we booked the ticket online. Her family live in Ethiopia Kembata zone countryside they were happy too.

Flight was 3am, Egna Legna staff went with her to Beirut airport. But before flight she was taken away to jail. She commit no crime. We were angry. I called the madame but she didn’t care. After two weeks General Security had mercy and cleared her to go. After 2 weeks in jail!

The girl spent days homeless outside consulate. Many of you saw them on tv. And after that 2 weeks in prison. Then police took her to airport like a criminal. We had to buy a second air ticket for her. July 29 she boarded flight and thank God now she’s with her family in Ethiopia

We call upon Lebanese government to treat our sisters like victims of abuse not criminals. Women who finish their contract should be free to leave. Not slaves of their madame. The ones who haven’t been paid for months shouldn’t have to worry about police charges. @lamiayammine
