The man on the left, leaning against the wall was my line manager for 5 years, 1996-2001, known as Karsten Schoeneborn.

Karsten was the General Manager who was responsible for the revenue coming from IBM's activities in Africa. Some countries had IBM operations, others had appointed private businesses as the IBM Authorised Dealer. Each country GM reported to him, I became an Acting GM in 1998.
An old colleague recently contacted me on social media. In the course of a pleasant conversation, catching up, I recalled the last time I spoke to Karsten. The attached image shows what I wrote, 29 June 2020.

This old colleague was the auditor Karsten had been referencing.
