Why you should Watch and Read Nana Thread

This series is criminally underappreciated. Hopefully some of ya'll will check it out.
Its impactful & life changing for young adults

The no of people who watched Nana when they were in their later teens that told me how much it helped shape who they are as an adult is shocking. Even as an adult & watching it for the first time as a 22 yr old it still impacted me.
All the characters & relationships are masterfully written and shockingly real. You will relate to EVERY one of these characters. The nuance & subtlety in the character dynamics is incredible. There is no other anime that handles realistic romantic relationships as well as Nana.
Emotions are REAL.

Nana can get emotional but it's not like many other shows that manipulate your emotions with music and great voice acting. The problems are real, the emotions are natural, cohesive and feel EARNED.
Morio Asaka & Madhouse.

This is an adaptation that's near perfect. Madhouse at its prime with one of the best director in the medium. The pacing is perfect, the voice acting & music is incredible and the direction is cinematic. Shows like this is why Madhouse is the goat studio.
Nana is emotional, it's dramatic but more importantly it's about bonds. Bonds between people in a grounded realistic approach unlike so many of its contemporaries. It's about friendship, relationships, loneliness and sacrifices. Exploration of these themes are so mature too.
Nana is a series without any character tropes. They're all painfully real people. It's take on bonds & life makes it a must watch and read. It teaches us an important lesson about the mistakes we shouldn't make.On top of that you get a beautiful story with a top tier protagonist.
I'm inclined to make this distinction because a few people keep pointing it out.

I'm aware that this is a popular series among shoujo enthusiasts. This tweet isn't targetted to them but the newer generation of anime fans. Tell them to name 15 drama series. Nana wouldn't be
one of them despite arguably being one of the best. It definitely is underappreciated amongthis generation of anime fans and I wanted to make that clear.
