Interviewed Dr. Timothy Jay yesterday for podcast, psychologist and expert on cursing and taboo language.

His newest book is 'We Did What?', a book about inappropriate behavior throughout American history: https://www.amazon.com/We-Did-What-Offensive-Inappropriate/dp/1440837724
Finished up new podcast. Will be up on podcast platforms in an hour or so.
Ever watch a viral video showing someone behaving very badly and thought 'That person has some mental issues and we shouldn't be getting outraged about it' ?

I did an interview about that. Here's Spotify link: #21: https://open.spotify.com/episode/0uuI7YOkbmofijfPkvqh84?si=uPIN4x7jTSakfGdqPG0gDg
I wish I had read more about personality disorders before this interview I did about offensive/taboo/abusive language.

This is a good synopsis of some of the issues associated with personality disorders: https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/personality-disorders/symptoms-causes/syc-20354463
RIP to Mark Ari, aka Mark Beitman. He died in July, quite young.

Mark was a former poker player who struggled w/ mental issues. He had an increasingly strange/sad YouTube channel documenting his descent into bad mental places. He was arrested last year for making threats.
It's a sad thing that the people who need our help the most are frequently hard people to like.

It is for people like Mark, people w/ quite obvious personality/mental issues yet who are mocked/hated by people who don't understand such factors, that I did this last podcast.
One aspect of abusive, offensive behavior by people w/ mental/personality disorders: they're trying to cope w/ a world that is threatening/scary in ways most of can't comprehend.

Their abusive behavior is some sort of coping mechanism, as illogical & outlandish as it seems to us
