Six yrs on from #YazidiGenocide, 60% of the Yazidi community remains displaced & living in camps. There are 2,800+ Yazidis in ISIS captivity or missing even those who managed to escape from the captivity are generally living in bad conditions in IDP camps.

Despite the migration of more than 100 thousands #Yazidis abroad since ISIS terrorist invaded #Sinjar region, Iraq in 2014, more than two thousand and eight hundred Yazidis abductees are still missing, according to figures of released by the Yazidi Rescue Office at the #KRG

Our Arab neighbors joined ISIS to seize our lands, kill our loved ones & drive us out. Hundreds of 1000s of Yazidis now live in IDP camps
We have lost faith in both the Iraqi government & KRG to protect us from the next genocide, we need our areas to be protected by Yazidi forces

When the Islamic State came, they surrounded the house. They separated the men, women, & girls.
They ordered our men to convert to Islam, but they refused. They put the girls in our 3 cars & took them away. When we were able to leave the house, we saw that our men had been killed

On August 3, 2014, ISIS invaded Sinjar City and the surrounding area trapping thousands of Yazidis, who escaped to the nearby Sinjar mountains. Today, hundreds of families still live in tents on the Sinjar mountain as their houses were destroyed by ISIS.
More than 80 mass graves have been discovered in the Yazidi region of Iraq, where hundreds of Yazidi civilians have been summarily executed and buried by ISIS terrorists. Yet, 2,800+ Yazidi women and girls remain in ISIS captivity after being sold as sex slaves in Iraq and Syria.
On August 3rd, 2014, the Yazidis had no time to pack up to flee.
They didn’t know they’d have to walk for days without food nor water.
The summer heat on Mount Sinjar that can reach 50℃ in the summer took many lives of vulnerable children and elderly people.

For several days in August 2014, thousands of #Yazidi were in Mount #Sinjar, no power, no food or water, no communications. No one knew at any time ISIS would attack them. Those were the worst days in many Yazidi people’s lives. Many children and elderly died of thirst & hunger.
Darling is a Yazidi baby died of thirst on Mount Sinjar after ISIS occupy their village in Sinjar. Her father managed to cover her small body under the shade of a tree.
