We have suspected it for awhile, have seen Trump playing political games, demanding fealty from Democratic governors and members of Congress.

But the Vanity Fair article makes it clear. This was an intentional strategy to let Americans die for political gain.

2/
There is now proof that a nationwide testing strategy existed.

We have no idea if it would have been effective, but it would have been SOMETHING.

The refusal to try it and the proof that it was politically-motivated means this was a crime against Americans and humanity.

3/
From the beginning, Trump played games with the pandemic, hoping it would go away or that he could lie around it.

He didn't fight it because he didn't want to acknowledge it for fear of spooking the economy and hurting his reelection.

This isn't failure. It's refusal.

4/
Time and time and time again Trump demanded fealty from Democratic governors and politicians, withholding life-saving devices and resources as a means of scoring political points and gaining quotes for reelection ads.

This is horrific, but nonetheless true.

5/
And as cities like New York experienced mass deaths, as refrigerated trucks were used to haul bodies, Trump and his cronies saw it as a political victory, another mark against "Blue States" and Democratic opponents.

It was intentional. It was premeditated.

6/
And to exacerbate the tragedy, even members of the Trump Administration like Betsy DeVos, paid for fabricated "movements" to reopen the economy and further endanger American lives and spread the disease.

We've been murdered. Pure and simple. Murdered.

7/
And now, to prop up an economy in crisis and bolster reelection chances, not to mention deal a deathblow to public education, they're throwing America's schoolchildren into the maw of a generational pandemic.

No plan. No resources. Not a single care in the world.

8/
And as it happens, the President of the United States of America is designating his "enemies," his fellow Americans, as terrorists and systematically crushing their constitutional rights.

This is how authoritarianism works. "Us vs. Them," and lives are disposable.

9/
What Trump, Kushner, DeVos, and others have done is just abominable and deserves thorough investigations and more than likely prosecution for crimes against humanity.

That isn't hyperbole. It's not alarmist. It's a literal reckoning with objective fact.
