Given that 'discourse' has descended unto us, mediated as it is by an economy built on commoditizing attention and a culture that rewards immediacy, we must go back to first principles to remain sane - Nyaya darsana offers sophisticated definitions on the 'logic of argumentation' https://twitter.com/aamipankaj/status/1284052762041348097
Training on 'critical thinking', grounded in Nyaya and Tarka principles can have a tremendous impact in reviving a healthy public discourse - particularly those who seek to opine on or be an interpreter/interlocutor of 'civilizational wisdom' need to cultivate new habits of mind
Familiarity with 'cognitive biases' etc helps but they do not constitute a darsana - Nyaya for example has its own theory of the transcendental. Failing to recognize this yields category mistakes in trying to define 'dharma', 'religion' etc - preparation must match ambition
This thread does a great job in compiling the principles of Nyaya darsana in a handy format - we should look forward to imbibing these into education and public debate. This has 'worldview forming' potential.
