Man United are in need of another Center back. One who's faster and left footed too.

Gabriel Magalhães of Lille OSC has been in the news as United's prospect to fill in the position.

Here's a description of Gabriel and H2H comparison with Kalidou Koulibaly.

Solskjaer will look to further tighten his teams defence during this window after an impressive outing in the 2019/2020 season. With 26 clean sheets at the end of July, United have the most shutouts of any team in Europe's top 5 Leagues.
Introducing a left-footed center back is very necessary to how United play as 7 out of 8 CBs in the Squad are right footers. The only exception, 30 year old Marcos Rojo made only 9 appearances in the first half of the season and is currently on loan to Estudiantes.
Gabriel Magalhães would suit nicely into United's team as he's good on the ball and provides a much needed pace and agility for a centre back.

Lille conceded 0.82 goals per 90 with Gabriel and 2 goals per 90 without him on the pitch.
The 22 year old would also align into Ole's plan of a youthful squad whilst being cost efficient in a transfer window damaged by corona virus. He's estimated to cost €20m.
United need to add players to it's squad as the introduction of the 5 substitute per game showed how much depth United lacked.

With a dominant presence aerially, he'll also reduce threats to United from set pieces.
At €20m, Gabriel is way cheaper than Kalidou and I think he'll come just as good.

Whilst I think Kalidou is a better player at the moment, the rings around his transfer makes Gabriel a better target.
Defensive Abilities H2H.
Koulibaly is certainly a better passer of than Gabriel. He's naturally calmer and comfortable passing than Gabriel and does distribution better.

Gabriel on the other hand will try to find his attackers more frequently with long balls into the area from his defence.
In summary, signing Gabriel means United need to axe off 2 to 3 players in that position. Here is the order the axing should happen in.

- Chris Smalling
- Phil Jones
- Axel Tuanzebe (injury prone)
