As Ayodhya Ji finally looks set to welcome Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram, after the inevitable, it is essential to look back at the historical events post-independence and recognize the roles of the Heroes, who shaped the trajectory of this civilizational triumph.
Abhiram Das (born as Abhinandan Mishra in Darbhanga district of Bihar) should have been a household name. Still, hardly anyone knows that it was his 'daredevil' entry into Babri on the midnight of Dec 22 in 1949, with an idol of Shri Ram Lalla, and changed the course of history.
This act helped legally, as the other party couldn't establish adverse possession after 1949. Abhiram Das was selected by the principal architects of the plan - Maharaja Pateshwari Prasad Singh of Balrampur, Mahant Digvijay Nath of Gorakhnath Muth, and Faizabad DM, KK Nayar.
Hindu priests Gopal Simla Viharad and Paramhansa Ramachandra Das were the real stalwarts of the RamMandir movement who sought permission to offer prayers to Ram Lalla in independent India. While the inner courtyard gates remained locked, prayers were allowed by Faizabad Court.
Legends:
Prof BB Lal, who rediscovered civilizational India buried under the colonial past.
Dr. KK Mouhammed, whose ASI report was accepted by the SC.
Dr. Meenakshi Jain, whose books 'Rama & Ayodhya' and 'The Battle for Rama' chronicles the journey of the right side of the battle
It was Mahant Avaidyanath of Gorakhnath Muth who formed the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mukti Yagna Samiti, and the "Tala-Kholo" agitation was launched. Under the direction of VHP Chief Ashok Singhal, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad spearheaded the lead to construct a Ram temple at Ayodhya.
District judge K M Pandey, on February 1, 1986, on a third party's appeal ordered the gates of the Babri to be opened for "darshan and pooja."
Justice Pandey also wrote a book - "Voice of conscience."
Shri Lal Krishna Advani, who astutely managed to repackage the core Hindutva ideal for modern India by propagating cultural nationalism. Advani profoundly presented Babri as a symbol of Hindu subjugation and as an act of penance, avowed: "सौगंध राम की खाते हैं मंदिर वहीं बनाएँगे"
The Kothari brothers Ram and Sharad, who sacrificed their lives, represent the face of millions of Kar Sevaks who finally clambered atop the central dome of the structure, and demolished it.
Without 6th December 1992, there can't be 5th Aug 2020.
UP CM Kalyan Singh was to provide security. Resigned within hours of the inevitable. Later, proudly said that the Babri demolition was a matter of national pride.
However, the buck for the demolition of Babri stops with then PM P.V. Narasimha Rao
The unforgettable leaders who mobilized the Kar Sevaks on the ground... from Murali Manohar Joshi to Uma Bharti and Sadhvi Ritambhara to Shakshi Maharaj, they all have immensely contributed in igniting the conscience of millions.
PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who had set up an Ayodhya cell in PMO and designated senior officials to hold talks with Hindu & Muslim leaders. It was Vajpayee's govt that filed an application in SC for vacating the interim order banning religious activity in Ayodhya. Was the backbone.
Advocate S K Parasaran, who fought the case legally on behalf of the Hindus, profoundly presented his arguments based on facts and logic.
The contributions and the literary force behind were highly instrumental in sustaining the movement.
The stalwarts like:
Writers - Sita Ram Goel, Ram Swarup, V S Naipaul, @Koenraad_Elst
Editors: Arun Shourie & Narendra Mohan
Producer of TV serial Ramayan, Ramanand Sagar.
And finally, Prime Minister Narendra Modi - without this man being at the helm of affairs, forget the verdict, even day-to-day hearing wasn't possible.
