🦌 A thread necessary for EVERYBODY about

oh my girl
Before we start this thread we wanna say our intention isn't offend or hurt someone/group
We just wanna bring information with all affection of world, for anyone understand what's happening, besides our native language isn't english so sorry for any mistake 💛
I left the meaning of each word for you, because the purpose of this thread you can understand what's happening 👉🏻👈🏻
In 2016, Oh my girl made a comeback with Windy Day, where they instrumental is very diversified, including the chorus! Some people quickly said the chorus was composto for traditionally Indian instruments and thought that was a appropriation cultural.
We passed a day searching about instruments of Asian Continent and we conclude the sounds of traditional instruments of Asian are similar content with a littles variation so
We believe that it isn't possible to say that it is really an Indian instrument

Now let's talk about the biggest controversy of the girls' career
While some people talk about cultural appropriation regarding instruments
The knetz associated the instrumental of Windy Day with the song Cur*y(2009) by the band Norazo, because of this association they gave the nickname cur*y-dols to the girls, this attracted a lot of attention from the knetz to girls who were at the beginning of their careers
It’s good that we pay attention to the fact that Korea doesn’t care much about these kinds of subjects, such as cultural appropriation, racism, xenophobia, etc
At the same time, wm, the girls' company, they tried to take advantage of the attention they were getting because of the nickname, so they made the girls perform with the music of the band Norazo
Unfortunately this song is very famous in Korea, where it is even used in "curry food" commercials and played on radio
In addition you can easily find other groups singing or dancing this song by associating it with the spicy dish that is "curry food"
The song contains an offensive lyrics where you can find several stereotypes and prejudices Indian culture, below an excerpt translated lyrics
At the time, miracles (omg fandom) sent emails demanding an apology from both the girls and the company, however Wm never commented on this event. Unfortunately it is common for the company to have this type of attitude, you will see throughout this thread
Miracles have been sending these emails since 2016, meaning we have been trying to solve this situation for 4 years!

Intentionally our fandom is very small, so it is difficult to attract the company's attention
because a large part of the fandom is made up of Koreans and as I said before

Koreans tend not to care about that kind of subject
Other idols sang this song in Korea because it was so famous and there was never an apology.
This year, a group sang this song, and their fans also sent emails demanding apologies from the idols and the company, as well as the band Norazo.
As this group has a large international fandom, this email managed to reach the singer Jobin, responsible for apparently being the vocalist of the band Norazo

Jobin spoke through an Instagram post, where he talked about the song, apologized and explained about the song
🦌 At the end of the Queendom in 2019, the girls were again accused of cult*ral ap*ropri*tion. Many hateful comments pointing out facts that didn't happen
Bindi has several meanings in Asia, mainly in South Asia, where it is most used.
In India, bindi has a religious and social meaning.
The location of bindi in Hinduism represents the sixth chakra, the bindi helps to maintain energy+
and reinforce concentration. In addition, in its traditional form, it was used to indicate the age, marital status and caste of women

Bindi is taking on a new meaning in India, that of female empowerment through current films and novels
In addition, in other Asian countries like Bangladesh and Pakistan, they use bindi as an element to enhance beauty.

So we see that the meaning of bindi is very complex and encompasses several connections between the countries of the Asian continent.
Bindi was originally made with ink, over time it has been adapted for use beyond religious significance, as an accessory, so it has several shapes
But we should also not forget that there is an accessory called a tiara on forehead, which does not belong to any religion or culture.
This accessory is used mainly by brides from all over the world, many are used to hold the veil or decorate the hair.
🦌 Seungh*e's case wasn't linked to racism or xenophobia, contrary to what many think, it was in fact a case of stereotype, its meaning is explained at the beginning of the topic
Seunghee clearly made a mistake by using a stereotype of Mexican culture when he used candy as a beard and an accent when talking about burritos.
Many Mexicans were offended, so the miracles again massively sent emails and this is where many pass on the wrong information+
Contrary to what many people think, Seungh*e knows that she was wrong, but can't apologize if Wm, which is the company, don't allow it. And how are we sure of that?
Besides that the station's post, the official account of the members of Oh my girl liked the email template that the miracles made demanding an apology from Seungh*e, but it didn't take long for the liked disappear
🦌 In the same tv show a misunderstanding occurred, a lot of people attacked HyoJun* asking her to kill herself.

In a part of the show where they were playing an mimicry game the name of ShinDon* was showed to her and she needed to mimicry him, immediately she
Danced a part of the Super Junior's song "Sorry Sorry" and did a gesture to represent someone overweight and people started to talking that HyoJu*g had an fatfobic behavior.

Shi*Dong, who is the mc of the show, played with her as well, saying that she was right and laughed +
with the girls.

Even that way, a lot of people said that ShinD*ng was feeling offended with HyoJ*ng's behavior.
We cannot say as a fact that Sh*nDong was really feeling that way because neither one of them (HyoJun* or ShinDon*) talked abou it. But, after the show and all of that
A lot of haters comments started to show up towards H*oJung and Sh*nDong, as an answer, started to follow Oh My Girl's official account and the girls personal accounts on Instagram.
Because of that we believe that Shi*Dong was showing us that everything is okay between them and there's nothing to worry about.
As said, this case of HyoJ*ng and the case of Se*ngHee happened in the same show at the same time, that's why Ar*n's brother did a post on Instagram to calm the fans (Miracles)
It's good to remember that Oh My Girl as a group or some members did collaborations with some members of Super Junior in entertaining programs on TV, for example: Dancing Idol, Knowing Bros, Star King, Super TV2, Weekly Idol, Gayo and radios: AS4U
The girls participate of many episodes with Super Junior's members and they talked about each other a lot of times, it wasn't the first time that they were together. 😊
Unfortunately a lot of companies don't let there idols to express there own thoughts and opinions, they are censured or excluded immediately or just ignored as WM always do, where our girls don't have space to talk or say what they want to say.
So, we can conclude that even the girls didn't come to public and talk about there fails because of WM, they're always open to learn with their own fails and become better people as they are!
Thank you so much for those who read untill here. We wanted to clarify the situation informing you as we can. We still searching a pronouncement about these facts, we are in the same side and we understand people who felt offended.
But, attacking the girls all the time, spreading fake news about them and threatening on them it doesn't help, just feed the hate and ignorance that is always on the internet around the world
Oh My Girl is incredible, each one of them are incredible, +
talented and caring. Give them a lot of love. ❤️🦌

- With love, miracle. 🦌
