(1/13) It is really painful, and at the same time appalling, to see how freedom of expression is being abused and how simple and convenient it has become to level false allegations against someone with a mere click of the finger.
(2/13) Blatant & malicious campaigns are carried out regardless of ethics & morality. Needless to mention the distress it causes the victim and his/her kith and kin because that is the demented intent of these vengeance-seeking people; their own way of settling 'personal' scores.
(3/13) Unfortunately those who resort to this campaign, resurfacing at 'timed' junctures, forget the anguish & questions it raises in minds of 18,000 students, along with faculty & staff – those responsible for nurturing the students through the most crucial period of their lives
(4/13) It also affects the collective zeal and hard work that brought NUST to its recently announced coveted status of the #1 university in Pakistan, and leapfrogging in international rankings.
(5/13) The accusations were categorically & specifically denied by DG ISPR in an April 2017 live TV interview and covered extensively by print & electronic media. A few links: https://www.dawn.com/news/1256030

(6/13) Accountability within the Army is a well-established fact. It is also to set the record straight that the name for Rector was nominated by the then Army Chief…
(7/13) …Gen Raheel Sharif (not Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa as mentioned in the circulating posts), who headed the NUST Board of Governors, comprising Chairmen HEC, Chairman PEC and five Federal Secretaries.
(8/13) It is up to readers' imagination to logically ascertain as to how an individual, in this day & age of an ever-vigilant media, be appointed by an Army Chief (during whose tenure this malicious campaign was in full swing)…
(9/13) … and then continue with same appointment for 3 years with the 2nd Army Chief in the chair. I individually would have chosen to ignore this recurring campaign for what it was, the doings of compromised minds…
(10/13) …had it not been for the Rector's office – a position whose trickle-down effects can make or mar mindsets, hence affecting the young generation that are the future of Pakistan.
(11/13) There are individuals who go about this abhorrent campaign with an agenda – these lines may not induce them to give up or seek redemption…
(12/13) …these lines are for those who receive a message maligning someone with (such obvious) false allegations & they mindlessly pass it on, hence becoming unknowing pawns in this despicable game.
(13/13) It is for these people I ask of you, it takes but a few moments to at least try and verify (with a sane mind) anything that you want to pass on; having done that you can do as you please.
