“john lewis prevailed” because the once civil rights hero left the movement to uphold the neoliberal world order, becoming an imperialist (re:helped destabilize haiti) and spent his last years on this earth co-opting & demobilizing black organizing.

john lewis spent his entire career (over)romanticizing the one time in his life when he had principles and courage—using the romanticization of his activist work, to direct (black) people back into the arms of one of the burning buildings, MLK told us about, the democratic party.

that’s why he is now being lauded by these c r a c k e r imperialists, pedophiles, and white supremacists (bill clinton is all three), he served his role to the white power structure respectfully, gracefully, acquiescently, and with class—and they’ll be forever grateful

i, and many others, have refrained from discussing this on here. allowing you lot get your grieving in or whatever. but since these c r a c k e r $ want to spit on the grave of one of the greatest, most principled revolutionaries to walk this earth, let’s get disrespectful!

kwame ture was so fucking kind & nuanced in his assessment of john lewis. and lewis disrespected & downright shit on ture & other black revolutionaries constantly, both publicly + otherwise, after being voted out of leadership within the sncc for betraying the politics/movement.
