The Kenney Government wants to roll the dice with the lives and health of our kids and school staff.

We intend not to let them.
I have spoken to so many parents in the last few days who are besides themselves with worry over sending their kids back to school during a pandemic. Some I have spoken to were in tears with fear and anger.
People feel there is nothing they can do. There is. We are organizing. We can fight back.

Here’s how we start to build a Wall of Alberta Moms and Dads to protect our kids, and families and staff of school children.
Step 1: Don’t keep your concerns to yourself.

Call the Minister of Education every single day to demand a better, safer reopening plan. If they can’t do that before school opening, then delay school openings.
Step 2: Swamp UCP MLAs in a barrage of phone calls, emails, letters, and social media comments

Write an email and copy every UCP MLA twice a week. Send a letter to the Premiere three times a week.

There’s enough of us to make it look like the mail room for Elvis Presley
Step 3: Join us in organizing and staging a huge Covid-safe demonstration.

It is our intention to blockade the Legislature for one hour on a day TBD in August. We will symbolically take back “our House” and with any luck, terrify the feckless cowards inside.
Other actions will be organized to accomplish similar blockades around the Province, protests if they try to reopen schools, and other acts of defiance.

It is so obvious that the Department of Education could do so much more to keep schools safe.

Their approach not only defies science, or defies common sense.

Put my kid at risk, and I’m going to take action.

I am not alone in that.
Please retweet this thread and encourage other parents, teachers, and families to join the fight.

500,000 pissed off Moms and Dads should be enough for the UCP to start soiling themselves.
