Remember in school when you’d hide your pads/tampons incase anyone saw and boys would pull them out in front of the class to shame you? Trying to muffle the sound of the wrapper or wait till a dryer is turned on so you can’t hear it. The shame surrounding periods is so widespread
You have misconceptions, I thought I wasn’t a virgin anymore if I used a tampon, you would walk in front of your friend and ask her to check the back of your skirt and there was always the girl that bled through and was bullied and shamed. This is why education is important

This all started because @The_ASAI removed an ad about tampon use from air because of 87 complaints calling it vulgar. They should reinstate it, no more shame over women’s natural body functions

Non binary/intersex people also get periods and are just as valid in this conversation. I hope we can continue to have open conversations like this to change the stigma surrounding periods.
