Meet the 1936 Zephyr Land Yacht. Streamlined beauty designed by Brooks Stevens.

Land yachts are essentially huge, long caravans/motorhomes, and there is no doubt they are absolutely bangin'.

Stevens also designed the 1957 'Evinrude Fishing Saucer' and this gorgeous 1937 Western Clipper. Also both bangin'.
Oh, and here's another similar and utterly bangin' land yacht. The 1938 Reo Tractor and Curtiss Aerocar. These things are so beautiful and strange and I want to live in one.

I think I might be back here with more #banginlandyachts soon! :)
Wow! This is the 1952 Executive Flagship - an absolute monster of a land-yacht.

Don't need to land helicopters on your mobile home? No worries! The flight deck converts into a sun deck for entertaining. So bangin'!

The 1938 International Jungle Yacht is another gorgeous land yacht with a little streamlined style.

As if it weren't huge enough already, two could be combined to make a mobile 5-bedroom apartment. Seems lots of interior space was given to the bar.

Here's an advertising image for the 1938 International Jungle Yacht, detailed above. Such a gorgeous thing! I still can't quite understand how it articulates.

OK - so there aren't that many land yachts for this thread of utterly bangin' land yachts, but here's today's...

The 1885 'Wanderer' is the first vehicle named a 'land yacht', it seems. A one-off designed for three people, a dog and... a cockatoo.
